A complete second course of potato pancakes and pork chops.
Kremzlyky are Transcarpathian potato pancakes. But in the Hutsul version, which is offered on UkraineFood, they are combined with pork chops and served as a full-fledged second course. One way or another, it turns out an original dish with a regional flavor.
Hutsul-style cream puffs
Ingredients
potatoes – 1 kg; pork – 700 g; onion – 4; garlic – 4 cloves; egg – 1; flour – 50 g; sour cream – 2 tbsp. l.; greens; salt, pepper
Preparation of kremzliks begins with rubbing peeled potatoes on a fine grater. Grind and squeeze the garlic, send to the potatoes in a bowl. Peel one onion and finely chop, add there, as well as sour cream, egg, salt and pepper. We mix everything.
We form potato cutlets, fry in a pan in vegetable oil until cooked on both sides. Place on paper towel to drain excess fat.
Next is the pork. Divide into slices 1-2 cm thick, lightly beat off, rub with salt and pepper. Fry on both sides until cooked and also spread on a napkin to remove excess fat.
Now is the general phase. Cut the onion into half rings, fry until golden brown. We heat the oven to 200 degrees. We lay out the dish in pots: first potato pancakes, on them – meat, then – sour cream, on top – fried onions. Sprinkle with red ground pepper and send to the oven for 20 minutes. If the meat turns out to be dry, add sour cream at the finish.
Sprinkle the pork kremzliki with herbs before serving.
