Chinese Communist Party Chairman Xi Jinping said Beijing’s position on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is “clear and consistent.” In a document published earlier, the Chinese Foreign Ministry outlined its plan for a political settlement of the so-called “Ukrainian crisis.” This is reported by the Central Television of the People’s Republic of China.
According to Jinping, the essence of China’s position is to promote peace and negotiations.
“We must stick to the direction of a political settlement, abandon the Cold War mentality, respect the legitimate security interests of all countries, and build a balanced, efficient and sustainable European security architecture,” he said during a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Beijing.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that he fully supports this position.
In addition, according to Chinese journalists, Jinping and Lukashenka signed a Joint Statement of China and Belarus on strategic partnership. Xi Jinping pointed out that the world is facing major changes not seen in a century, and there is a long way to go to maintain world peace and development.
