According to the head of the Hungarian government, he supports the peace plan for Ukraine, which was proposed by China a few days ago.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban fears that some country in the European Union will want to send its troops to the territory of Ukraine in order to also fight with Russia. He stated this during the opening of the spring session of the national parliament, writes 24.hu.
“If Western support for Ukraine continues, sooner or later there will be those willing to send troops,” he said.
In addition, Orban supported the plan to end the war in Ukraine, which was previously proposed by China. The Hungarian prime minister also supported a resolution from the ruling Fidesz party, which states that Budapest stands for peace and does not want to get involved in a war.
In addition, Orban again criticized the European Union sanctions that were imposed against Russia for invading Ukraine. He is sure that this is the cause of inflation, which cannot be stopped.
“Wartime inflation is a disease, and a virus is a sanction. This is a domino thrown in Brussels,” Orban said.
According to the Hungarian politician, the explosion on the Nord Stream is a terrorist act, which can also be repeated with pipelines in the south.
Orban also noted that if the war continues, more people will die and the threat of hyperinflation will continue, no one will feel safe and the conflict could escalate into a world war. So you need to stop shooting.
“A year has passed since Russia invaded Ukraine. This war is not taking place in an incomprehensible distance, but in our neighborhood. This war brings losses to everyone,” he said.
Earlier, the head of the Hungarian government has already said that Moscow cannot win, but the Russian Federation, as a nuclear state, cannot be driven into a corner. He called for peace talks. The politician noted that the entire Western world supported Ukraine, and Russia might not like it.
Also, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said that his office is working to prepare Orban’s visit to Kyiv. According to him, the trip should be timely.
