The competent authorities, said the speaker of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleg Nikolenko, are already establishing the circumstances of the visit to the occupied territory. The diplomat also recalled the responsibility for such actions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted to the visit of journalists from the American television channel NBC News to Crimea through the Kerch bridge. Oleg Nikolenko, spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, wrote about this in a Facebook post.
He directly wrote that visiting the temporarily occupied Crimea from the territory of the Russian Federation is a violation of Ukrainian legislation. According to him, the competent authorities of Ukraine are establishing the circumstances of the illegal visit of representatives of the NBC channel to the territory of Crimea.
“For violators, legal liability is provided. In particular, a ban on entry to Ukraine is also provided for foreigners for such actions,” Nikolenko said.
He also said that following the results of the audit, a decision will be made on further steps.
Recall that the journalists of the American television channel NBC News entered the Crimea on the Kerch bridge. They went to the occupied peninsula from Moscow to make a report. The channel’s employees themselves admitted that they entered the territory of Crimea illegally.
It should be noted that on June 4, 2015, the government adopted Decree No. 367 “On Approval of the Procedure for Entry into and Exit from the Temporarily Occupied Territory of Ukraine.” The document provides for the entry of foreigners and stateless persons is possible only with a passport document and with a special permit, which can only be issued by the State Migration Service of Ukraine. Journalistic activity is one of the grounds for obtaining a document.
It is not known whether NBC News journalists tried to obtain permission from the Ukrainian migration service.
Recall that the St. Petersburg supermarket recognized Crimea as part of Ukraine. In a store on Iskorovsky Prospekt, a sign with the Ukrainian flag was placed on a shelf with Crimean wine. One of the buyers of the store turned to the support service with a complaint about the anti-Ukrainian position of the supermarket administration. After that, the sign was removed.
The General Staff said that the occupiers were transporting collaborators from Oleshki to Crimea by trucks. The enemy attracted military trucks to transport collaborators, and only hand luggage is allowed.
