At the end of last year, a presentation of the new brand GWM Tank, specializing in frame SUVs with a brutal design, took place in Russia.
GMW Tank is a subsidiary of the Chinese concern Great Wall (it also owns the well-known Russian company Haval).
The model range on the Russian market so far consists of two models:
Tank 300 (Toyota Fortuner competitor) Tank 500 (Toyota Land Cruiser 300 competitor)
However, this is a lineup of the Chinese market, the brand has presented many concepts, but so far there are only two serial “Tanks”. The five-meter Tank 700 is on the way, which has already been certified in China and is ready to enter the market.
Orders for the younger Tank 300 have begun in Russia (prices and configurations have been announced), followed by sales of the Tank 500.

Tank 300
The Tank 300 2023 is the brand’s youngest SUV, but it’s hard to call it compact; it’s comparable in size to a Toyota Fortuner or UAZ Patriot.
By design, this is a frame all-wheel drive car with a plug-in electromagnetic clutch, a reduction gear and already in the basic configuration with a rear differential lock (the expensive Premium version also has a front differential lock).
Under the hood, there is a non-alternative two-liter turbo engine (220 hp and 380 Hm) and an eight-speed automatic ZF. The engine is adapted for the 92nd gasoline. Acceleration to 100 km / h – 10.6 seconds, top speed – 175 km / h.

Tank 500
The Tank 500 is the next model in the company’s hierarchy, comparable in size to the popular Japanese SUV Toyota Land Cruiser 300.
By design, the “500th”, as well as the younger Tank 300, is a frame vehicle with all-wheel drive (connecting the front axle using an electromagnetic clutch).
All-wheel drive itself with a reduction gear and two differential locks (rear axle and front).
Under the hood of the Tank 500 is a V6 3.0 petrol biturbo engine, in the Russian specification producing 299 hp and 500 Hm (in China – 354 hp) and a nine-speed “automatic”.

Tank 700
At the beginning of 2023, a large SUV Tank 700 began to be certified in China. So far, this is the largest SUV of the brand: length – 5090 mm, width – 2061 mm, wheelbase – 3000 mm.
It is expected that the model will receive a three-liter V6 turbo engine with a capacity of 360 hp and an all-wheel drive transmission with an emphasis on off-road.
According to preliminary information, a full-fledged debut will take place in the spring of 2023. Then more details will be known.
Tank 800
Tank 800 is the largest SUV of the new GWM Tank brand, which has the role of flagship. The exterior design echoes executive Range Rover and even Rolls-Royce models, especially in the two-tone showroom exterior.
Technically, the car is unified with the large Great Wall Cannon X pickup truck, they have a common platform, a frame body and an almost identical front end.
Tank 400
The Tank frame SUV with the 400 index formally debuted later than the rest of the Tank model line, thus becoming the fifth in a row. In the form of a concept, it was shown in the fall of 2021, but if the “three hundred” and “five hundred” are already being produced in their commercial versions, then this model is still at the development stage.
