What has 8 wheels, no steering wheel and a mass of more than 6 tons? This is the Fat Truck 8×8 recently introduced by the Canadian company Zeal Motor.
The company also showed a video of the novelty, filmed in complete off-road conditions. This miracle of technology climbs walls, overcomes any obstacles and does not sink.
This is not the first Fat Truck. The company has already tried to replicate the success of the Russian Sherp all-terrain vehicle back in 2020. Unsuccessfully. But now the car has twice as many wheels.
The trailer has a special articulated hitch that flexes in both the X-axis and the Y-axis. In other words, the hitch allows the ATV to flex in any direction, up and down.

Thanks to her, the Fat Truck climbs 1.2-meter ledges and swims through frozen ponds and rivers without any problems. The driver has two buttons that activate the hitch drive: one lifts up the front and rear sections, and the other lowers them and lifts the center section of the all-terrain vehicle into the air.
The Fat Truck 8×8 is powered by a Cummins 3.8-liter turbodiesel with 173 hp. Despite the mass of 6350 kg, the pressure on the ground due to the tires is small – only 0.134 kg per square centimeter.

All eight wheels are driven by hydrostatic motors that convert the fluid flow energy into mechanical energy. That is, the all-terrain vehicle does not have a cardan shaft – it is replaced by hydraulics. The maximum speed of the car is 40 km/h.
Controlled by the Fat Truck with a simple joystick mounted between the front seats: tilt it forward to move forward; back to move backward and side to side to turn.
