Vladimir Putin is in a bad psychological state and tries to stay away from other people, says the former head of the Moscow FSB, Yevgeny Savostyanov.
More and more Russians are showing dissatisfaction with the policies of President Vladimir Putin because of military failures in Ukraine. Such information is provided by the British edition of Express, referring to the former head of the Moscow department of the FSB, General Yevgeny Savostyanov.
According to the source, the RF Armed Forces have not been able to achieve significant success in the war in Ukraine for a year and remain on the same lines of hostilities for a long time. Therefore, now Vladimir Putin is very afraid of the “anger” of the inhabitants of Russia, which can find a way out at any moment, therefore he is looking for any ways to achieve victory.
“Putin perfectly understands the mood of people who have lost everything because of him, so he stays away from them. Putin is now terribly scared. He understands that he is in trouble. Now he is in such a psychological state that he clings to any opportunity to win,” said Evgeny Savostyanov. In his opinion, Putin “ruined himself” by ordering the attack on Ukraine.
British journalists noted that the advance of the Russians in Ukraine has stopped at the borders of Donbass, and it is not clear how the hostilities may develop in the next few months. Vladimir Putin tried to strengthen the troops with the help of partial mobilization, but it did not help the RF Armed Forces to make a significant breakthrough.
In September 2022, about 300 thousand soldiers were mobilized in Russia, but even more went abroad, not wanting to fight. According to the Russian state news agency RIA Novosti, by the end of the year the population of the Russian Federation decreased by about 555.3 thousand people (from 146.98 million to 146.42 million).
On February 21, in a message to the Federal Assembly, Vladimir Putin announced the continuation of the “military operation” in Ukraine. He promised that the Russians would continue to solve problems consistently.
Prior to this, in a February 5 report, analysts at the Institute for the Study of War said that Vladimir Putin still wants to take over all of Ukraine, but is not ready for the use of nuclear weapons and war with NATO. He sets difficult goals for the military leadership and requires them to be met.
