Hundreds of pupils staged a massive protest outside a school in Leeds following a staff decision to close most of the toilets. Parents supported the children, comparing school rules with a “prisoner of war camp.” According to them, the children were sent home for trying to go to the toilet.
Why in the UK restricted access to toilets in schools – the essence of the ban
The headmaster of Haven High Academy in Boston said this form of protest was unacceptable and threatened students with consequences. A spokesman for the high school said the new measures were in place to “ensure the safety” of the students. Huge queues allegedly line up at the toilets between lessons.

“My daughters were kicked out because they went to the toilet yesterday, they were in despair. If they need to go to the toilet, let them go. It’s not a crime, limiting them to a roll of toilet paper is completely unacceptable,” the outraged parents described the situation.
School administrators assured that at least one block of toilets for boys and one for girls was always open.
Pupils at Farnley Academy in Leeds said they were told to get a written receipt to use the toilet during class. Parents drew attention to the massive violation of human rights.
Girls in schools measure the length of skirts
Many students posted videos of the protests on TikTok, while others in the comments asked how they could join the protests and start a riot in their school, the Daily Mail adds.
According to media reports, some school administrations are asking students to show “red cards” during menstruation. At Rainford High School in St. Helens, teachers measured the length of girls’ skirts. School principal Yang Yang does not see the situation as a problem.
“My youngest daughter was forbidden to use the toilet during her period. They measured the length of the skirts, and if they refused, the parents were called and told that their child should come the next day in a long skirt,” the parents said.
Recall that in Ukrainian cities, schools were transferred to remote mode due to the threat of missile strikes by the Russian Armed Forces on February 23 and 24. The Verkhovna Rada recognized that the war was making adjustments to educational programs for children.
In January, the Kiev-Mohyla Academy forbade speaking Russian on the territory of the educational institution.
