The tank commander got out to use the radio, and the operator delivered a well-aimed blow.
The Ukrainian military successfully uses inexpensive kamikaze drones against enemy equipment. Russian propagandist Vladlen Tatarsky (Maxim Fomin) wrote on Telegram that one of these drones destroyed a tank of the Russian Armed Forces.
According to him, in one of the sectors of the front, the Russian tank stopped for the commander to get out and transmit important information via a secure walkie-talkie, since VHF tank communications are easily tapped. The Ukrainian operator seized the opportunity and sent a Ukrainian first-person-control drone (FPV) right inside the combat vehicle.
“It flew into the open hatch … The crew remained alive, but the tank burned down. He was killed by a little crap for 30 thousand rubles (not 2.5 million),” the propagandist noted.
Vladlen Tatarsky was also indignant that the Russian Ministry of Defense did not create units of the RF Armed Forces specializing in FPV drones. According to him, only amateur enthusiasts are involved in assembling such UAVs from the Russian side.
“Think about it: equipment capable of destroying tanks is made in garages. We need to change our approach to SVO, after all, a year has passed,” he said.
The Ukrainian military really use kamikaze drones that hit the tanks of the Russian Armed Forces. Recently, the 35th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine boasted about $500 worth of aircraft used in the Donetsk region. They lift up to 1 kg of explosives or fragmentation ammunition to destroy infantry.
Recently, fighters of the 74th ORB of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the armored personnel carrier of the Russians using a kamikaze drone. As told in the volunteer organization “Khortytska Varta”, the invaders tried to bring him down with the help of electronic warfare, but to no avail.
