Volkswagen unveils its new GTX badge, the equivalent of GTI but for electric vehicles. This will be affixed for the first time to the SUV ID. 4. Presentation scheduled for April 28.
It was announced, it is now official: the badge GTX arrives at Volkswagen. The German manufacturer will soon launch this new sports label dedicated to electric vehicles of its new ID range.
The first model to benefit from it will indeed be revealed on April 28th. It will be the SUV ID.4.

Affixed to certain Volkswagen models in the 1980s, this coat of arms is now synonymous with increased sportiness for the brand’s zero emission vehicles. It fits as well in line with the GTI (petrol), GTD (diesel) and GTE (plug-in hybrid).
Its “X” refers to the four-wheel drive cars, it is reserved only for vehicles with two electric motors (one per axle).
306 hp for the ID.4 GTX?
Volkswagen has yet to reveal how much power this new logo will bring to the ID.4 SUV, but it could climb. up to 306 hp, as on the new Skoda Enyaq iV RS 4 × 4, which also has an 82 kWh battery for an autonomous of 460 km.
On the design side, the GTX badge will be accompanied by a few specific style elements, such as a unique light signature.
After ID.4, other models will display it. Not necessarily the compact ID.3 but probably theID.5 which will be the production version of the concept car I.D. Crozz and a cut variant of the ID.4. In addition to the versions GTX, it is also said that Volkswagen could decline its electric cars ID in even more muscular R variants…
