BMW will not only present cars at the Munich Motor Show, which will open on September 7, 2021. The Bavarian manufacturer, which sits a stone’s throw from the event venue, will also be exhibiting an electric two-wheeler concept called CE 02 there. . Its proportions place it at the crossroads between scooter, motorcycle and moped.

A small all-rounder

The CE 02 presents a look that is at the same time clean, robust and futuristic. Its 15-inch-diameter black rims do without mudguards and its flat front optical unit is nestled between the fork tubes. Its saddle placed 73 mm above the ground makes it very accessible.

With this motorcycle, BMW wants to seduce those who are not bikers, starting with the youngest from 16 years old. The long flat saddle allows you to adopt an upright or lying position and accommodate a passenger. The lower part of the frame can accommodate a skateboard that also acts as a footrest. Above is a storage space. The instrument cluster takes the form of a tiny screen. Personalization strips and stickers make each copy visually unique.

Thought for urban youth

Theoretically usable with an A1 license, the BMW CE 02 is powered by a 15 hp engine, can reach 90 km / h and offers a range of 90 km. Its contained weight of 120 kg makes it easy to maneuver. Moreover, thanks to the energy recovery during braking, the use of the physical brake pedal is not necessary. Always with a view to appealing to city youth, BMW has designed a motorcycle jacket that is as aesthetic as it is protective, inspired by the stylistic trends of the moment, to accompany the vehicle. It remains to be seen whether the two-wheeler will pass the course of series production.

The Chinese concern GAC has announced the start of sales of the new Trumpchi Empow sedan in sports style, which should appeal to young people.

The debut prototype of the sedan called Trumpchi Empow was demonstrated by the GAC brand last fall at the Guangzhou Motor Show. In June 2021, the novelty is ready for sale.

In terms of size, the sedan is similar to the current foreign cars Volkswagen Jetta or Hyundai Elantra. The body is stretched in length by 4700 mm, width is 1850 mm. The height reached 1432 mm. There are 2736 mm between the wheels, so the passengers in the second row will have plenty of space.

The GAC Trumpchi Empow starter kit has LED optics and 16-inch casting. Also in the range of models there is a top version with additional sports style. The set includes a different radiator grille, rethought bumpers, a spoiler on the trunk lid, round exhaust pipes, 18-inch wheels and decorative elements on the body.

The interior has integrated screens of the dashboard and multimedia system with a diagonal of 10.25 inches each.

Even in the basic configuration, the designers decorated the interior with contrasting inserts. A large button to start the engine is located in the center of the tunnel. The list of options includes the electric drive of the first row of seats and the hatch.

The car is designed on the modular platform Global Platform Modular Architecture. Previously, this architecture has already been used for the Trumpchi GS4 SUV. Representatives of the brand equipped the sports novelty with an independent suspension in the rear. At the same time the drive at the car is exclusively forward.

First on sale will be the starting version of the GAC Trumpchi Empow with a turbocharged 1.5 T-GDI unit with a capacity of 177 hp. and 270 Nm. In tandem with him works exclusively robotic 7-speed transmission with two wet clutches. In the future, the Chinese brand will offer the market a modification of the sedan with a turbocharged 2-liter unit and hybrid configurations.

The French is assembled in Trnava, Slovakia, while the German comes from Zaragoza, Spain. Motor replacement sometimes necessary

While this fairly long inventory can be scary, it does require taking a step back. Some of the faults listed affect only a very small number of copies, and most have normally been corrected at the factory. In the set, there is only one official recall, related to curtain airbags and which also applies to thermal models. In after-sales, other faults will therefore only be rectified following a complaint or during a visit to the workshop. Staying faithful to the network therefore remains preferable, and above all, do not hesitate to report any malfunction. Especially since three of the problems identified still involve a replacement of the 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor, as on the e-208.

A 12 V battery not always flawless

Some on-board chargers also had to be changed. On the other hand, nothing to report on the side of the large lithium-ion battery of 50 kWh (46 kWh useful), covered for 8 years and 160,000 km. The new roadster MG Cyberster will be able to accelerate to 100 kph in less than 3 seconds. Moreover, without recharging, the electric car will travel about 800 kilometers.

The Chinese-British auto brand MG, which is owned by the “celestial” auto giant SAIC, showed a conceptual Cyberster roadster with zero emissions.

The new electric car is addressed to young drivers: hence its daring appearance and high technology. It was decided to organize the world premiere of the novelty at the Shanghai Motor Show, which will open its doors on April 21.

According to Autocar, the concept car will receive a powerful electric powertrain. Details are kept secret for now. For the exterior of this roadster, the designers took inspiration from the MGB sports car.

The electric car received spectacular LED optics of a classic round shape, stylish diode stripes on each side and LED taillights with a British flag pattern.
There is no information about the interior of the novelty this time – the automaker decided to keep the intrigue. Past teasers have shown that the roadster will have a pair of baffle-separated seats and a W-shaped steering wheel with buttons like game sticks.

Meanwhile, in Japan, Toyota Passo and Daihatsu Boon are safer after the upgrade. Not without cosmetic improvements.
