It is located on the industrial site which was in activity from 1973 to 2014.

This is not a museum

The idea was absolutely not to create a museum for the double chevron brand. since this place was initially not open to the public. It could nevertheless accommodate the press within the framework of reports. Because the vocation of the Citroën Conservatory was then to bring together and maintain the vehicles produced from the origin to the present day, as well as to manage all the brand’s archives. Change of course from 2004, when visits by appointment are organized. Several thousand people come to walk the aisles each year.

Since 2017, following the merger of the heritage activities of the Peugeot, Citroën and DS Automobiles brands within a single association, L’Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS, the Citroën Conservatory, has become the Citroën & DS Conservatory. It then opens its doors to the public, more widely and without an appointment, from Monday to Saturday, from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. With nearly 300 pieces, the Conservatory maintains the largest international collection of Citroën vehicles classified by decades (from 1919 to the 2000s) then by thematic islands: sport, adventure, utility, unusual vehicles, concept cars and prototypes. Since 2019, a new space has been entirely devoted to vehicles from the DS Automobiles range.

BMW recently announced a muscular large SUV concept designed by its Motorsport sports department. The names of the brand’s SUVs begin with an “X” and that of the firm’s sports cars with an “M”; the vehicle to come was logically called XM. The use of this name by BMW may nevertheless be surprising since Citroën marketed a sedan so named in the 1990s. The two manufacturers could have reached an agreement.

The XM in exchange for the C5 X?

Rather sensitive on the issue of its intellectual properties, Citroën is currently opposed to the launch of Polestar in France, deeming the logo of the Sino-Scandinavian firm too close to that of DS. To avoid this kind of inconvenience with your XM, BMW would have paved the way for Citroën. An internal source at the French manufacturer would have explained to our American colleagues of Carscoops : « The use of the name XM (by BMW) is the result of a constructive dialogue between Citroën and BMW, so this has been carefully considered and discussed. An unfair deal?

Citroën would therefore have authorized BMW to use the exact name of one of these historic vehicles (and to register the mark) in exchange for the use of a name close to but far from being identical to the nomenclature of the German manufacturer. XM refers above all to the Citroën XM, the French car launched at the end of the 80s and which remained on sale until the year 2000. BMW does not have the legal right to use this name, and may risk it. have problems with the French manufacturer. Moreover, Citroën’s legal department attacked Polestar for the use of its rafters, and the Paris court upheld its case, which won Polestar the ban on marketing its models in France !

Citroën news for 2022 promises to be interesting, with models of different styles and segments to further expand the Double Chevron range, already enriched in 2021 with two new products: the new generation of the Citroën C4 and the C5 X.

The year 2022 will start exactly from there, that is to say from the effective arrival on the market of the new flagship, already on sale but which will finally hit the road with the first deliveries to customers.

But that’s not all! 2022 should see the renewal of the core range, which will include two more compact models: the restyling of the C5 Aircross and the possible debut of a new SUV derived from the C4. A detailed realization

Produced at a scale of 1:15 using elements from various authentic Lego ranges (Technic, Bionicle, etc.), the Citroën Méhari kit includes 733 parts in total.
