Despite the energy transition that is beginning, some agree that we are living the golden age of the automobile, with a plethora of sports cars and supercars, each more powerful than the other. The latest is Greek and is called “Greek Chaos”. It is a hypercar destined to become one of the most extreme cars.

The manufacturer, namely SP Automotive, is a Greek start-up that is bursting with ambition and even calls its car a “the world’s first ultracar”. Indeed, with the figures announced as a teaser before its official presentation on 1^is next november, there is a chance that this car will inaugurate yet another new category in the world of sports cars.

A monster without compromise

The Greek Chaos was supposed to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2022, the automotive mecca of no compromise of sorts, but due to the cancellation of the Swiss event, its reveal is advanced to 1^is November. But even before its presentation, we already know a lot about this famous “ultracar”.

Featured in an almost four-minute video, the Greek Chaos is the work of Spyros Panopoulos, a Greek entrepreneur who started car development in 2019 with the aim of building the fastest and most advanced production car technologically to the world.

In terms of technologies, we find in particular many functions indexed to augmented reality, a 5G connection and a V2X system allowing vehicles to communicate with each other. The powertrain, meanwhile, is a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V10 available in two power levels. There is a version of 2000 horses and another from 3000 horsepower. Under the latter configuration, the V10 would be capable of reaching up to 12,000 rpm.

The hunt for records is on

The Greek Chaos is obviously a model destined to become exclusive, as evidenced by its low production, since the company plans to assemble between 15 and 20 cars per year, for a total volume of 100 units.

As shown in the video, SP literally did not skimp on the means to build this model, in particular using the “the most expensive materials from aerospace technologies”. Materials such as titanium, carbon fiber, Zylon (a special lightweight and strong polymer), Kevlar and an Inconel exhaust system make up the few elements of the Greek Chaos.

The starting price will be € 5.5 million for the “basic” version, and will change to € 12.4 million for the “full option” variant of 3000 horsepower. What to make pale the Bugatti Centodieci, the hypercar from Molsheim produced in 10 copies for 8 million euros each.

And, as if that weren’t enough, Spyros Panapoulos set himself the goal of breaking the Nürburgring lap record. In any case, all that remains is to wait for the 1^is next November to discover all the details of the first hypercar to come from Greece.

You do not dream ! The Greek brand SP Automotive plans to launch a hypercar of more than 3,000 hp with a twin-turbo V10, in 2022.

It had been a long time since a hypercar had been announced with such figures, without any electrification. On the contrary, the Spyros Panopoulos Chaos wants to completely redefine automotive performance and the limits to be reached before the end of the thermal. With great ambition it is certain, realistically and certain, we may not take the plunge.

Advertised price: up to $ 14.4 million

This is the story of a start-up grecque on the way to fulfilling the dream of many: to produce the fastest and most powerful car in the world. SP Automotive announces to present its Chaos model in more detail in a conference scheduled for November 1, 2021. This was to be the case last year at the Geneva Motor Show and since then it has been radio silence. The creator of the brand explains that he wants to create the “first ultracar on the planet”! So it takes time …

To give you some information, Chaos would be quite approved for the road. Its price is à la carte depending on whether you choose the model with all the power available or not. The first version would be around the 5.5 million euros with a power of 2,000 hp and a red zone located at 11,000 rpm. The ultimate model would reach the 12.4 million euros and therefore, the 3,000 hp with a breaker at 12,000 rpm.

An artisanal production

The company plans to produce between 15 and 20 vehicles per year, according to demand. The total production would still be limited to 100 copies to keep the exclusivity of the model. Knowing that a first order has already arrived in the bins. To continue promoting its product, SP Automotive is planning a program to the letter and partnerships. We can cite the BBC and its program Top Gear who would have to test the car and set some speed records on her own.

Among the feats, the Chaos will try to establish a new reference time on the Nürburgring circuit for a production car, that is to say marketed as is. Depending on the tires, aerodynamics and engine capacity, the car could spin beyond 500 km / h. Quite extraordinary figures that will have to be confirmed. We should not repeat the scandal of the SSC Tuatara and its tampered with speedometer. The 400m standing start should also be sent in times never seen before.

Already the technical specs!

To achieve its goals, SP Automotive has a V10 biturbo 4.0. Positioned at the rear, it would feature a machined aluminum block, titanium or carbon pistons and rods. 3d printed, a titanium camshaft, Inconel valves as well as a pair of turbochargers in carbon fiber, titanium and ceramic compounds. Power would be transmitted via an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, which would need to be more than stepped up.

The chassis should be a monocoque en Zylon while the body would abuse carbon and kevlar. The brakes will consist of ceramic discs measuring 428mm (16.9in) at the front and 416mm (16.4in) at the rear, complemented by 3D printed magnesium calipers. Beautiful people in perspective but the Greek manufacturer does not stop there. Indeed, it plans later a whole range with an electric city car and another supercar running … on hydrogen.
