The Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters managed to achieve some progress on two sectors of the front. Meanwhile, the enemy is putting pressure on Ukrainian positions in Chasovoy Yar and Avdiivka.
The Russian Armed Forces lost positions on two sections of the front in the Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions. Geolocation of military clashes showed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces advanced in the southern part of the front near the village of Kamenskoye and in the eastern part – near Maryinka and Ugledar. The situation in the Russian-Ukrainian war is discussed in an analytical report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), published on February 12.
ISW analysts noted that the Russian Armed Forces will continue to try to advance towards the administrative borders of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions.
“Everything is like in Bakhmut”: how FPV and Russian infantry are advancing on Chasov Yar, where civilians still remain (video)
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters are repelling the enemy’s attempts and are having success in some areas. One of the points where they managed to push back the Russians was near the village of Pobeda in the Shakhtarsky direction. The conclusion was made based on the geolocation of the video from Russian military officers: “Ukrainian forces have advanced slightly to the northeast of Pobeda.” They also reported that it was on this section of the front that enemy soldiers from the Tiger battalion of the 255th motorized rifle regiment and Marines from the 155th Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Armed Forces were spotted.
Another segment of the front where ISW noticed the advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is north-west of Rabotino in the Zaporozhye region. Based on a video of the battle published by a Russian military correspondent, new positions of the Defense Forces were established near the village of Kamenskoye: the settlement is located near Vasilyevka, through which the road to Tokmak and Energodar passes.
Battles in the east and south – details
The ISW report also notes on which sections of the front Russian troops have advanced somewhat: to the west of Bakhmut – at Chasovoy Yar and Bogdanovka, at Avdeevka – it is possible to move in the direction of “the railway track and consolidate in the dacha territory to the west of the railway.”
In addition, there are battles near Kupyansk (Sinkovka-Lake Liman), Kremennaya (near Ternov), Belogorovka (in the western part of the village), Bolshaya Novoselka (Prechistovka and Priyutino), the bridgehead near Krynki is being held, says the portal of the Institute for the Study of War.
Let us note that in the evening report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine they spoke about the number of attacks that the Defense Forces managed to repel during February 12, the largest number of assaults – at Novomikhailovka and Pobeda (25 assaults) and at Avdievka (18 assaults).
We remind you that Focus Based on messages from the Ukrainian command, I collected information about the situation near Avdiivka: it became known about new forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that could appear there. Meanwhile, the German publication Bild spoke about the battles near Chasovoy Yar, where the enemy was moving forward “meter by meter.”
