According to OSINT analyst Naalsio, the occupiers lost 222 tanks, and according to Oryx, the Russian Armed Forces have already lost 2,185 vehicles in total, excluding those that were captured by the Ukrainian army.
In recent months, Russian troops have been storming and continuing their attempts to capture Avdeevka. During the fighting they lost 222 tanks. Every tenth vehicle during a full-scale war was lost in the area of this settlement. Forbes reports this.
Russian troops are advancing in the Avdeevsky direction. The Ukrainian military does not have enough ammunition, so the invaders have already broken into the populated area. If the Russian Federation is able to capture a populated area, then this could become a Pyrrhic victory for them, because they will suffer huge losses.
According to Soviet indicators, one motorized rifle division on paper had 220 tanks. The current Russian army still adheres to Soviet tank standards. Therefore, the Russian Armed Forces have already lost an entire division of tanks; according to OSINT analyst Naalsio, the enemy has lost 222 T-72, T-80 and T-90 tanks. At the same time, the Ukrainian army lost 18 tanks during the defense of Avdiivka.
Potentially, it was in the Avdeevsky direction that Russian troops lost every tenth tank. According to the author, not only the classical theory that those who are on the offensive have three times more losses than those who are on the defensive played a role here. Ukrainian defenders crushed the invaders with mines, artillery, UAVs, rockets and hand grenade launchers. Even if the Ukrainian Armed Forces withdraw from Avdeevka, the Russians have already lost so many forces that they will not be able to quickly recover without slowing down the offensive.
According to Oryx, Russian troops lost 2,726 tanks, of which 541 became trophies of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. If we subtract the captured vehicles and leave only damaged, abandoned and destroyed ones, then the Russian Armed Forces lost 2,185 tanks.
Let us remind you that on February 12, the media wrote that the 3rd assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces could be deployed to save Avdiivka.
ISW analysts also reported that the Russian Armed Forces advanced near Avdeevka.
