THE Kalle Rovanpera is getting ready to start this year's season at WRC with the Rally Sweden.
The Finnish two-time champion will run in at least six rallies this yearopening the curtain on his competitive season in his home country, at Arctic Rally.
There he could win, being almost one minutein front from his Toyota teammate Elfyn Evanshowever it had mechanical problem which deprived him of victory.
“Yes, I'm ready,” he said of the upcoming Rally Sweden. “We have high expectations for Sweden. It's good to be back in a WRC race after this little break we've had.
“I hope the starting position we will have is to enjoy the rally. Of course, we will try to fight for the win and bring points to the team.”
His participation in Arctic Rally him help to prepareas he himself revealed:
“We've understood what the car can do, we've found the setup, so these tests were important and maybe we'll have an even better feel in Sweden.
“Only one race is held on snow each year, so we have to find the right setup with just a few tests. We don't have a lot of experience with the car in the snow, so we have to make sure it's fast in the race.
“We always try to find the set-up that will make the car as fast as possible. In Sweden you have to keep pushing because it's a fast rally, you have to save tires for the second passes, so you have to make a lot of compromises and have a fast and comfortable car.”
