The Kia EV9 has been named the winner in the SUV category at the 2024 World Woman Car Of The Year Awards.
Kia announced that the Let's EV9 was named the winner in the SUV category at the awards “World Woman Car Of The Year” for 2024. This achievement comes after a thorough evaluation of 62 competing models, where the Kia EV9 stood out due to its outstanding performance in various areas such as safety, driving experience, technology, comfort, efficiency, environmental impact and value for money. This recognition further reinforces the Kia EV9's reputation as an industry-leading large electric SUV.
A jury of 75 female automotive journalists from 52 countries on five continents, with Greece represented by journalist Christina Myrto Stathakis, participated in a comprehensive evaluation process. This included driving tests, detailed analyzes and rigorous studies to select the winners in five categories: SUV, Family Car, Large Car, Exclusive Car and 4×4 & Pick-Up. During this initial round, the Kia EV9 stood out for its excellent aerodynamics, innovative design features, advanced technology, bi-directional charging capability and ultra-fast 800-volt charging system. The jury also highlighted the attractive price of the EV9, placing it competitively against other vehicles in the same class. The EV9 combines SUV power, cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) styling and advanced technologies, placing it at the forefront of the SUV segment.
Built on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV9 ensures sporty performance and an all-electric range of over 541 km (WLTP). The ultra-fast 800-volt charging capability allows a range of up to 239 km to be topped up in just 15 minutes. The Kia EV9's recognition at the 2024 WWCOTY Awards demonstrates Kia's commitment to creating vehicles that appeal to a wide range of perspectives and preferences, showcasing the EV9's appeal to women around the world.
The EV9, along with four other category winners, qualified for the final vote to determine the overall winner of the Worldwide Car of Women’s Car of the Year on March 8, International Women's Day.
