Fulfilling the promise it made some time ago, the Italian brand has released the first draft of its own performance version of the new 600e which is worth noting that will offer 240 horsepower, taking the title of Abarth's most powerful model ever.
According to the recommendations, the Abarth 600e is traveling the last kilometers of its development with its premiere taking place later in the year. In this regard, we should note that the version pictured is the limited production Scorpionissima which will be built in 1,949 examples although, obviously, some of the design upgrade elements will be shared with the “softer” visually, mass production versions.
However, the standout features include the new 20-inch wheels behind a more powerful braking system and wrapped in high-performance tires developed in collaboration with Formula E's preferred tire supplier, Hankook.
Abarth has chosen for this particular version a special shade of purple which it calls “Hypnotic Purple” and which creates a pleasant contrast with the Abarth lime-colored logos. Apart from the color options it is equally clear that the Abarth 600e has a completely redesigned and more aggressive look dominated by the new splitter, new, more dug lower side sections and a distinct spoiler on the top of the trunk.
As a reminder, the above 240 horsepower will come from a single electric motor that drives the front wheels as the 600e is based on an improved version of the Stellantis group's e-CMP architecture which goes by the name Perfo e-CMP .
Given the immediacy of torque output ensured by the presence of an electric motor, for better power management, Abarth is expected to add a mechanical limited slip differential to the equation which will contribute to better control and dynamic stability of the whole.
The version's features are expected to include as standard, the Abarth Sound Generator sound production system that is already known from the smaller 500e and which, using a speaker system inside and outside the car, makes sure to offer the version an artificial but full of meaning soundtrack inspired by conventional scorpion constructions.
