From the outskirts of the city, where FPVs most often fly, to the positions of the Russian Armed Forces near occupied Bakhmut is less than four kilometers. The occupiers try to pass them almost in a straight line.
In the city of Chasov Yar, Donetsk region, Russian drones are constantly attacking the city. From their positions to the settlement there are only 4 kilometers. However, there are still civilians in the city. Ukrayinska Pravda tells how they survive.
“Drone!” This word, several kilometers from the positions of the Russian army, sounds like the worst and at the same time the best warning command in the world. The worst – because there is a high probability that there will now be a strong explosion and, possibly, even injuries. The best – because there are still a few seconds to find cover,” writes UP.

Russian drones are constantly circling over the city. Sometimes they deliberately end up in volunteer vehicles that deliver humanitarian aid.
From the outskirts of the city, where FPVs most often fly, to the positions of the Russian Armed Forces near occupied Bakhmut is less than four kilometers. The occupiers are trying to pass them almost in a straight line, moving from the captured Khromov and partially captured Bogdanovka from the northern flank of the Bakhmut direction.
Throughout 2023, the Russian army constantly shelled Chasov Yar. All communications there were interrupted, the cultural center and all administrative buildings were destroyed, every third house in the city was mutilated. At the beginning of 2024, the Russians began to finish off Chasov Yar. They are hunting its inhabitants and Ukrainian defenders.
The area that gets the most is the one called “Eastern” or “Canal”. It is separated from the main part of the city by the Seversky Donets – Donbass canal and is located closest to Bakhmut.
Now the locals call the canal a microdistrict, where everything is “like in Bakhmut.” Here are high-rise buildings blackened by fires, the remains of FPV drones, nameless civilian graves in courtyards.
Of the 19 thousand pre-war population, less than a thousand people remain in Chasovoy Yar. There are only three people in the Kanal microdistrict.
The defense of the city, in particular, is held by the 93rd separate mechanized brigade “Kholodny Yar”. The unit’s fighters do this in the face of a total invasion of Russian FPV drones.
Let us remind you that expert Alexander Kovalenko told how events will develop in Avdievka over the next 2 weeks. The occupiers are planning to go to Chasov Yar next.
On February 7, it was reported that in Avdeevka, Donetsk region, in recent days, Russian occupiers have been advancing from the north of the city, so the situation for the Defense Forces has become more complicated.
