What new sections will it be? The state plans to complete at least 17 highway projects on 8 highways across the country this year. Among other things, these will be constructions such as the D4 highway to Písek, the South Bohemian D3 or the South Moravian D55. For example, the aforementioned D4 is also referred to as a reference PPP project and is 32 kilometers of highway.
The Department of Transport received a record budget to start work on another 118 kilometers of highways. The Czech Republic will thus progress in construction at a faster pace than before, and the government wants to start building 47 kilometers of first-class roads at the same time.
As for new highways, our neighbors are struggling with the same problems as Slovakia. The preparation of projects is not easy, it often takes a long time, there are conflicting comments from participants in the proceedings, and as a rule, there is a lack of flexibility in terms of acquiring land for construction – these processes also tend to be prolonged.
However, the Poles also managed it at one time – our northern neighbor Poland managed to skillfully complete the highway network after 2000 thanks to money from European funds.
