The commercial career of the new Ford Mustang in Europe and Greece begins with the simultaneous publication of the official prices of all its available versions – including the more hardcore Dark Horse.
The seventh generation of Ford Mustang was presented for the first time in 2022 and now the time has come for the “evergreen” flagship model of the blue oval company to officially put its wheels on the old continent, including Greece, in its now renewed version.
Carrying a tradition six decades with nearly 10 million sales worldwidethe new generation of the American coupe (and convertible) appears adapted” to the demands of the digital age, but also strengthened in technologies and performance, with the latter having… beginning and end a updated version of Ford's naturally aspirated 5-liter V8 engine.
The latter is equipped with new intake system with dual air intake and two throttles aiming to minimize intake losses and achieve a higher air flow rate for better performance. At low rotation rates opens a single butterfly for reasons of efficiency, while the second opens synchronously at higher revs to maximize the output power. THE direct and indirect high and low pressure spraying they work in harmony to deliver, respectively, increased torque and power at low and high revs
The fourth-generation (Gen IV) 5.0-liter V8 engine also features forged steel crankshaft with polymer coating for reduced friction and increased durability, but also connecting rods manufactured by the sintering process for reliable operation at high speeds. The new intake and exhaust camshafts control the large diameter valves, while the variable timing system of the camshafts Ti-VCT ensures ideal distribution of power throughout the engine's rotation range.
According to Ford, in the Mustang GT, both coupe and convertible versions, its performance amounts to 446 horsepower, while in top dark horse, which is available exclusively with a coupé body, in 454 horsepower, thanks to selective interventions in its regulation.
The Mustang GT is available with 10-speed automatic transmission or 6-speed manual. The Performance Pack is standard and includes 19-inch alloy wheels, a limited-slip differential, signature Brembo brakes with reinforced calipers, and an Active Valve Exhaust that ensures engine sounds depending on the driving scenario. The optional MagneRide active suspension it monitors road conditions 1,000 times per second and uses an electronically controlled fluid to adjust damping as needed.
With the visual appeal and functionality of a traditional, mechanical handbrake, the electronically controlled drift brake “unlocks” the drifting ability of the rear-wheel drive Mustang. According to Ford, the Performance Electronic Parking Brake it is designed both for novice drivers who want to learn and improve their drift skills, and to provide more experienced drivers with a race-ready system.
Up to six driving profiles are available optimizing the new Ford Mustang's performance in various driving scenarios. The Drive Modes available are Normal, Sport, Slippery, Drag and Track, while a setting that can be personalized allows the driver to “tune” their Mustang to their personal preferences.
The interior of the new Ford Mustang
Inside, the seventh-generation Mustang features a technologically advanced, driver-centric cockpit that perfectly blends Mustang heritage with cutting-edge technology. The traditional upper part of the dashboard with the characteristic double “eyebrows” has now given way to a flowing and more 'open' glass-clad layout, offering a cleaner and more attractive environment for the driver.
Behind the new steering wheel with the flat lower part and thicker rim is located a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster;, which can be configured to display different display layouts and new, adaptive graphics depending on the Drive Mode. This digital instrument panel flows seamlessly into a 13.2-inch center screen. With a noticeable inclination towards the driver, the two screens are located behind the same piece of embedded glass. Replacing and “porting” physical switches and controls for functions such as air conditioning to the touch screen freed up additional space in the center console to store personal items and install a surface for wireless smartphone charging.
The new Ford Mustang Dark Horse raises the bar

The Performance Package is also offered as standard, underscoring the model's on-track capabilities. This “package” includes one auxiliary engine oil coolerone refrigerator oil for the optional automatic transmissionone unique low weight cooler for better heat dissipation, stronger fans in the cooling systemand another radiator on the rear axle. The standard type limited slip differential Torsen maximizes grip levels for improved acceleration and cornering balance, while the standard Performance Electronic Brake allows the Mustang Dark Horse driver to take advantage of the car's drifting capabilities.
The Performance Package also includes larger rear anti-roll bars, heavy-duty front shock absorbers, 6-piston Brembo front calipers with 390mm discs, front roll bar, “K” shaped rear bar, rims of different dimensions front and rear (19 x 9 inch front and 19 x 9.5 inch rear) and Pirelli P Zero PZ4 tires.
