A new trick to steal from car drivers has been found by astute people across Europe, “striking” where no one expects it.
The well-known practice of distraction continues to be used by vultures, thus attempting to easily grab drivers' personal belongings.
The note on the rearview mirror of the IX and the… distraction
What changes each time is the methodology or if you prefer the trick they use to force the driver out of the car, leaving valuables like a cell phone or wallet exposed.
The new trick thieves have come up with is the note on the car mirror. This note is usually placed on the right mirror and in such a way that it is not easily noticed until someone is in the driver's seat.
Covering the rearview mirror, the note forces the driver to get out of the car to remove it. At the same time the eagle claws rush to break into the car and remove objects from it and before the driver realizes what exactly has happened they have disappeared.
A closed mirror can also lead to the same result, and in this case the driver will need to get out of the car to open it and start his journey.
How to avoid theft
An easy way to avoid unpleasantness is before getting into the car to do a quick check around it to make sure nothing strange or suspicious has happened.
Of course, even in the event that we have already boarded the car and find out afterwards that something is happening, we should not leave it, if it is not absolutely necessary.
On the contrary, we should continue our course and only when we have traveled a long enough distance should we attempt to open the mirror or remove any note from the car.
It is also an inviolable rule to keep the doors locked before even starting the journey, however short it may be, as incidents of theft of items from cars that are stopped at a traffic light or in traffic are not rare.
