After an early leak, Jeep has finally decided to release the first images and details of its all-electric premium SUV which, as its size and status dictates, will initially begin its commercial journey on the opposite side of the Atlantic from this year without excluding Europe where in any case it should be expected from next year.
Starting from its invisible side, it is worth noting that the Wagoneer S will be one of the first models of the Stellantis group to use the recently announced STLA Large platform, which combined with its size, means even greater possibilities in terms of battery capacity. In particular, according to the relevant information, the platform can accommodate batteries with a capacity of up to 118 kWh, which in the case of the Wagoneer S is expected to mean a range of up to 650 km, given its size, weight and equipment.
Speaking of equipment, among the new elements made public by Jeep is also the first image from the interior of the Wagoneer S, which the American brand recommends as “technology-oriented”, a characterization which it takes care to document with the presence of four screens that occupy the entire dashboard area but also a bit of the center console in a pattern similar to the conventional Grand Wagoneer.
As one can easily guess, the Wagoneer S has a fully digital instrument panel, infotainment, a screen for the driver's entertainment and another one for the climate control. It would also be less than impressive if the Wagoneer S had optional screens for rear-seat passenger entertainment. Also visible from the interior image is the dial for Jeep's familiar Selec-Terrain traction control system which includes Sand, Snow, Eco, Auto and Sport options.
Its equipment also includes a split panoramic sunroof as standard as well as a sound system consisting of 19 speakers.
In terms of its exterior appearance, Jeep seems to have balanced its familiar aesthetics with a tendency to exaggeration imposed by the luxury orientation and size, while also taking into account the dictates of aerodynamics that make this particular model less square and more wedge-shaped than the firm's usual practice.
At the moment there are no clear data on the power of the Wagoneer S, however given that all versions will benefit from two electric motors offering a combined performance that will exceed 600 hp.
