Sales of electric vehicles in 2024 are expected to decline for the first time in eight years in Germanyas signs of recession in that market spread.
The Association of German Automobile Manufacturers expects that sales in the country of pure battery electric cars will be reduced for the whole of this year by 14% compared to 2023 levels, reaching a total of 450,000 units – the corresponding performance for the past year was 524.000 EVs.
One of the major reasons that will lead to this “decline” is the recent decision by the German coalition government to end the subsidy regime, a year earlier than planned.
