Mobile road inspection checks vehicles directly in the field
A road technical inspection is an unannounced and unexpected inspection of the technical condition of a vehicle carried out by the police while supervising road traffic. According to the legislation, the inspection can take place precisely in cooperation between the police patrol and an organization such as TESTEK.
It consists of the verification of the vehicle's documents and two other phases: a visual assessment of the technical condition of the stationary vehicle and a vehicle inspection at a mobile road technical inspection.
Wondering how law enforcement officers choose cars to check? Discrimination – for example according to the license plate – is prohibited. According to the current rules, police officers should always make the greatest effort to pick out cars that are most likely to be poorly maintained.
