The other day, on one of the Kyiv streets, an Autocenter correspondent managed to photograph a rather rare truck tractor for the domestic market – a Volvo FL6. Note that the first generation Volvo FL6 model is found in Ukraine mainly as a chassis with various body superstructures, for urban and regional transportation. Its total weight, depending on the design, can vary from 7.5 to 18 tons.
However, in this case, it is a long-range tractor, designed to work as part of a road train with a total weight of up to 28 tons. By the way, a single-axle semi-trailer from the German manufacturer WEKA Fahrzeugbau is docked with it. It has air suspension and is designed for a total weight of 16 tons. Here it is presented with the sides removed.
The Volvo FL6 truck tractor is presented with an extended, restyled cab from the 2000 model, as evidenced by the modified radiator grille. Interestingly, on the roof, as you can see, there is a sleeping capsule from the famous Czech brand Pony Fantasy. The cabin reclines to a significant angle – 54 degrees, which facilitates access to the engine.
At one time, the updated Volvo FL6 model was equipped with a 6-cylinder D6B turbodiesel (Euro 3) with a displacement of 5.5 liters, produced in three power options: 180, 220 or 250 hp. With. The gearbox was manual, six or eight speed. There were 13 power take-off options and fuel tanks with a capacity from 130 to 600 liters to choose from.
