More money for the construction and repair of roads in various corners of Slovakia
The ministry is already announcing that thanks to the savings of 69 million euros, it will be able to spend more money on other transport projects – for example, it could be the repair of 20 bridges, and motorists across the country would already feel this.
“Let's not imagine the more than 69 million that we have acquired as just a virtual number that will now remain in our piggy bank. It is money saved for the state budget, which we can reinvest, for example, in a bypass of a district town or 20 repaired bridges. I thank the EU representatives for approving this money for us and my colleagues who worked really hard on this,” said Minister of Transport Jozef Ráž.
The first man of the department was also this week to personally see the project of the second stage of the Prešov bypass, which has been under construction since the summer of last year. During the meeting with the chairman of the Prešov self-governing region, Milan Majerský, they also connected via video call with Herald Ruijters from the General Directorate for Mobility and Transport in the European Commission.
“New highway connection will bring prosperity to the region, its residents and entrepreneurs. Therefore, the European Commission has many reasons for the 69 million contribution. We believe that thanks to this contribution, the region will progress,” doplnil Ruijters.
