Skoda built more than 888,000 vehicles in 2023, as well as several hundred thousand gearboxes, axles, engines and batteries in its factories around the world. Let's see where what is produced.
In 2023, Skoda built around 556,000 units of the Fabia, Scala, Octavia, Octavia iV, Kamiq, Enyaq and Enyaq Coupe models at its headquarters in Younga Boleslav of the Czech Republic.
This facility also produced 349,021 MQ100 and MQ200 manual transmissions, 1,736,815 axles and 469,935 EA211 engines, which are also installed in vehicles of other VW Group brands. In addition, in this “multi-factory” Skoda manufactured 165,606 battery systems for pure electric vehicles based on the group's MEB platform, as well as 147,625 battery systems for plug-in hybrid models. With a second assembly line commissioned in December, the facility's production capacity is expected to increase by 50% to 1,500 units per day.
His factory Yeast in the Czech Republic also contributed significantly to Skoda's production volume, manufacturing a total of 225,000 units of the Karoq, Kodiaq, Superb and Superb iV models last year.
In the Vrchlabialso located in the Czech Republic, Škoda's production focused on DQ200 automatic transmissions, with a total production of 686,066 units.
On the premises of the “mother” VW factory in Bratislava, Skoda's production included over 36,000 examples of the Karoq as well as the first examples of the new generation Superb – the Czech company is responsible for the development of both the Skoda Superb and the new VW Passat, which are built on the same production line in Bratislava . It's also worth noting that by “moving” Superb production to Bratislava, the Czech automaker is creating “space” to increase Octavia production at the Kvasiny plant from summer 2024 onwards. In addition, the move will allow more electric vehicles to be built at the Mlada Boleslav plant.
Also, nearly 2,500 Skoda cars were manufactured at the company's plant in Ukraine located in Solomonovo.
In the four Chinese factories in Changsha (Kodiaq και Kodiaq GT), Nanjing (Kamiq, Kamiq GT και Superb), Ningbo (Octavia, Octavia Pro and Karoq) and Yizheng (Rapid), the Czech carmaker built around 18,500 vehicles in 2023.
At the factory in the city Pune in India the company produced nearly 48,000 units of the locally developed Kushaq and Slavia models. In addition, the factory at Aurangabad it contributed around 4,400 units, with models such as the Superb, Octavia and Kodiaq. In total, Škoda's facilities in India produced over 52,000 vehicles.
