According to F1's own announcement, its capital Spain will be added to the calendar from 2026whenever the contract that the sport has with its track expires Cataloniawith the Spanish Grand Prix to be transferred from Barcelona at Madrid.
However, there are reports that the sport's governing body have begun negotiations with track people in Barcelona for early termination of the partnership them so that the Madrid earlier in the program, but this has not been confirmed. The possibility for two matches in Spain in 2026 is considered unlikely.

The track will include both existing roadsas well as parts to be built exclusively for the GP. It is a long route 5,474 kmwhich consists of 20 turnswith the estimated lap time at ranking rates to amount to 1:32. It extends around the IFEMA exhibition centeralmost 5 minutes away from Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suarez Airport.
