The lightweight MLRS was created by the Ukrainian military and volunteers and installed on the Nissan Navara NP300 pickup truck. She is highly mobile and quickly deploys.
In the Donetsk region, homemade MLRS are striking the enemy. It was mounted on a pickup truck chassis and called the “Nightmaremobile.” Photos of interesting equipment were published on the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.
The light MLRS was developed and built by the military of the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade of Mariupol together with volunteers. Its carrier was the old frame pickup Nissan Navara NP300.
Nissan removed the cargo body and installed in its place a special platform with four guides from the Grad MLRS. For structural stability, folding side supports are provided.

A homemade MLRS has its advantages – it is more compact and maneuverable than the Grad, and is almost invulnerable to enemy drones. It turns quickly and can strike suddenly. If accurate intelligence data is available, the MLRS is capable of effectively defeating enemy equipment and manpower.
Similar highly mobile homemade MLRS have already appeared in a number of units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Their design may differ: sometimes even launchers of air-to-ground aircraft missiles are mounted on the chassis of pickup trucks.
Also Focus said that in Ukraine in 2024 they plan to begin production of Japanese frame pickup trucks for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
