The “We’re fed up” demo has been taking place during the “Green Week” agricultural trade fair in Berlin for many years. As in the previous year, the demonstrators want to drive with a tractor protest to an international meeting of agriculture ministers at around 10:30 a.m. in order to hand over a protest note to Federal Agriculture Minister Cem Özdemir (Greens).
This year the conference will take place at the exhibition center. The demonstration in the city center begins at 12 p.m. at the Willy Brandt House. The final rally will take place at the Chancellery at around 2:15 p.m.
Similar to the farmers’ association that initiated the protests of the past few weeks, the rural agriculture working group, as part of the “We’re fed up” alliance, is also bothered by the planned subsidy cuts for agricultural diesel.
In addition, the alliance has significantly different goals than the farmers’ association. The alliance’s sponsors include Nabu, BUND, Fridays For Future and Deutsche Umwelthilfe.
