Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center GmbH, the hub of the Korean group’s European research and development activities, has announced the start of construction of a new and state-of-the-art research center.
The new center Research and Development located in the metropolitan area Rhine-Main of Frankfurt in Germany and will highlight its commitment Hyundai Motor Group for innovation, creativity, environmental responsibility and creating new job opportunities. The opening of the new facility is planned for 2025. The new research center will have an area of 25,000 square meters, more than doubling its office and research laboratory space. HMETC, providing employees with an even more dynamic work environment. It will also incorporate energy-efficient design and advanced renewable energy systems that align with Hyundai Motor Group’s mission to reduce its carbon footprint and promote zero-emission solutions.
The HMETC is focused on promoting future sustainable mobility through the development of electric vehicles (EVs) that offer state-of-the-art technologies. The integrated approach includes the development of new mobility solutions tailored to the preferences and needs of European customers. The new R&D center will focus on more technologically advanced innovations, such as the development of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), infotainment functions and electrification. The facility will feature its largest 4W NVH Dyno Hyundai Motor Groupcapable of measuring a full range of vehicles on one platform, along with two Chassis Dynos and a Powertrain Dyno, enhancing advanced testing capabilities.
The new research center represents a significant investment in its field Research & Development and will allow to Hyundai Motor Group to remain at the forefront of technological advancement in the industry.
