Acceleration of subsidy payments and extension of “Moving Electric II” until April, the submission of applications for “Charging Everywhere” until May 31, and the “Green Taxi” and “e-Astypalea” programs until the end of 2024.
With the aim of accelerating the penetration of electrification, the program was modified “I Move Electric II». More specifically, it was decided to remove applications that had been stagnating for months without absorbing funds from the program, a 45-day deadline for submitting an order for an electric car was applied and funds of 6.4 million euros. Essentially, the possibility was given to even more citizens who wish to be subsidized for the purchase of a new electric car. The platform is already open for those who wish to make their application, in order to be included in the “Move Electric II” program.
Overall they are engaged 65 million euros for subsidies, while the program was extended until the end of April. In 2023, 6,379 purely electric vehicles were registered in our country. To date, 20,577 applications have been submitted to the Kinoumai Electrika II program, of which 19,571 were approved for the subsidy. In the last 2 months alone, 3,239 citizens were granted a total of 8.5 million euros.
As part of Sustainable Urban Mobility, the 250 new electric buses (140 for Athens and 110 for Thessaloniki) will be on the streets in 3 months. The prototype bus is expected in the coming days to begin a series of tests and pre-work to receive the remaining 249. According to the timetable the estimated time of arrival for all the vehicles is early March.
In the program “Green Taxis» the application deadline will be extended for one year, from December 31, 2023 to December 31, 2024, while the first subsidy payment of 22,500 euros to a professional driver in the city of Ptolemaida has been completed. At the same time, a program is being planned to install the first chargers in the taxi ranks, which is necessary to strengthen the interest of taxi owners in the program. The same extension is given to “e-Astypalea“, where the withdrawal subsidy for light commercial vehicles was also increased from 3,000 to 10,000 euros.
Finally, in “I charge Everywhere» the submission of applications is extended until May 31 and the necessary modifications are soon completed, in order to reduce bureaucracy, simplify the procedures and give the whole market the opportunity to benefit from the significant subsidies provided by the program.
