A Ukrainian-made wheeled robot was shown for the first time in real combat conditions. It was used by soldiers of the 5th separate assault Kyiv brigade. The remote-controlled Ironclad platform, armed with the Shablya combat module, effectively shot down the positions of the Russian occupiers.
Ironclad was developed by the Roboneers team (Global Dynamics) back in 2018. Among the design features, we highlight the articulated frame, which makes it very maneuverable. Each of the four wheels is driven by its own electric motor. On batteries, it can travel for about 2 hours, reaching speeds of up to 20 km/h. When using a diesel generator, the battery life increases to 11 hours.
Ironclad has an armored body. Its own weight is about 1500 kg. The Shablya combat module is equipped with two color cameras for daytime operation, as well as a thermal imager for hunting the enemy at night. The effective target engagement range is 1200 m.
