The half-siblings were the winners of the nine-year-old 100km “winter” race organized by Valentino Rossi at his “ranch” in Tavullia.
Valentino Rossi and his half-brother, Luca Mariniwho this year will be present in MotoGP in the colors of Repsol Honda, were the winners in the race named «100 km of Champions» which has been held for the last nine years in Tavullia, on the “ranch” of the nine-time World Champion.
In Saturday’s race, 44-year-old Valentino Rossi teamed up perfectly with his brother taking the win against familiar names from the magical world of racing on two wheels.
Completing the 50 laps of the race with a time of 1:45.54, Rossi and Marini took first place – having even taken the pole position a little earlier – with a difference of two seconds against the duo of Elia Bartolini and Celestino Vietti of the Red Bull KTM Ajo team. This victory marked Luca Marini’s second success of the weekend, following on from the match «Americana» of Friday, which took place on the same ground.
In the third and last place of the podium went the Franco Morbidelliwho this year will compete in MotoGP with the colors of Prima Pramac Racin, and Andrea Migno. The two-time MotoGP World Champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), in collaboration with his compatriot and fellow student at the VR46 Academy Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team), secured sixth place, crossing the finish line behind Diogo Moreira (Italtrans Racing Team) and Ferran Thistle who ranked 4th, and Fabio Of Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) and Denis Foggia (Italtrans Racing Team), who finished in 5th place.
Among the 40 riders who took part in the race organized by Valentino Rossi, the names of the two young MotoGP riders who compete in the colors of Gas Gas also stood out. Pedro Acosta and Augusto Fernandez.
