During the course of the military military examination, men liable for military service must be examined by a surgeon, therapist, neurologist, psychiatrist, ophthalmologist, otolaryngologist, dentist, dermatologist and other doctors as indicated, said lawyer Kristina Kovtsun.
Martial law and general mobilization continue in Ukraine until February 14, at which time citizens liable for military service between the ages of 18 and 60 can be called up for military service. Lawyer, head of the medical department at the Legal Hundred NGO Kristina Kovtsun, in an interview with Ukrainian Radio, said when men need to undergo a military medical commission.
She noted that in peacetime, all persons liable for military service must undergo a medical examination once every five years.
Mobilization in Ukraine: deferment from conscription is proposed to be issued not based on disability group
“Men 18-60 years old who are in the reserves for health reasons are recognized as either fit or partially fit and can be mobilized. Of course, this also applies to women with relevant medical specialties,” said Kristina Kovtsun.
According to her, this period may be leveled out in conditions of mobilization. In particular, after being served with a summons, the citizen must appear at the TCC and SP to clarify military registration data and undergo the military check. This is necessary in order to understand whether a person is fit, partially fit or unfit for military service.
Is it possible to refuse to undergo the IVC?
The lawyer noted that in the case when a man refuses to undergo the IVC, administrative liability is provided, namely a fine. Besides this, there may be another challenge later.
The procedure for passing the IHC
Kovtsun said that the TCC have certain responsibilities for obtaining information, in particular from social security departments, in order to find out which citizens have the status of a person with a disability. Also, when undergoing VVC, men must provide a medical card and extracts from the medical documentation about previous diseases.
“One person is absolutely healthy, nothing bothers him for years, and the other, roughly speaking, does not leave hospital treatment, undergoes operations and the like. And the person liable for military service must report this,” she said.
For a person liable for military service, a general blood test, a general urinalysis, a blood test for antibodies – HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C are prescribed, his blood type and Rh status are determined, and an X-ray examination is carried out. Persons over the age of 40 must have their intraocular pressure measured and their blood tested for sugar. Additional examinations may be prescribed if, during general tests, it is determined that there are poor indicators.
After this, the person liable for military service is examined by a surgeon, therapist, neurologist, psychiatrist, ophthalmologist, otolaryngologist, dentist, dermatologist and other doctors as indicated.
Let us remind you that lawyers Irina and Vladislav Leonov said that a citizen liable for military service can appeal the decision of the Military Military Commission to the highest Military Military Commission or in court. In this case, the citizen may receive a deferment from being sent to service.
Earlier, Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Yarina Chornoguz reported that about one hundred thousand women could be mobilized. She believes women with the motivation and desire to serve in the military can become drone operators, combat medics, infantrymen or scouts.
