The Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to occupy some Russian positions near Kupyansk. Meanwhile, the Russians went on the defensive and have been attacking only with infantry for more than 2 weeks.
In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian occupiers suspended the offensive and went on the defensive, while the Ukrainian Armed Forces went on a counteroffensive in some places. BILD analyst Julian Röpke reports this.
According to the journalist, since the end of December, the Russian Armed Forces have stopped large-scale attacks by armored vehicles on the village of Sinkovka in the Kharkov region, which they tried to capture in order to develop a further attack on the city of Kupyansk. For about two weeks now, only individual infantry units have been attacking there without the support of armored vehicles.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to launch a partial counteroffensive and capture Russian positions near Kupyansk.
“In attacks, the Ukrainians use heavy armored vehicles, for example, Swedish Strf 90 infantry fighting vehicles. They come within a few meters of the Russian trenches, which has not only a firepower, but also a psychological impact on the enemy,” writes BILD.
