It is hardly a surprise that for the second consecutive year BMW M’s best-seller is an all-electric model.
2023 was a record year for her BMW Mwith sales of the Bavarians’ sporty offshoot models rising percentage-wise by 14,3% exceeding in absolute numbers the psychological and not only barrier of 200,000 units.
The USA was once again the most important single market for BMW M cars for the financial year 2023. H German domestic market once again took second place in the relevant ranking, while the United Kingdom remained the third most important market, the same as in 2022.
As the brand’s first all-electric performance model, the BMW i4 M50 continued its successful course and for the second year in a row it was the best-selling BMW M model.
Among other things, it is worth noting that in 2023 the “present” in the BMW M range was also given by i5 M60 xDrive Sedan and the BMW i7 M70 xDrive (read our driving impressions of these two models here and here).
BMW M’s plans for 2024
Except for the upcoming one renewal of M3, M4 and M2, an all-new generation of the larger M5 is already in the works. The new generation of the high-performance model in the luxury segment will not only be available as a sedan, but also as Touring, both with a plug-in hybrid drive system (Read more here). A little later, h i5 M60 xDrive Touring will complement BMW M’s range of pure electric cars.
Finally, the product core of the BMW M range will be strengthened in 2024 by the new M4 CS.
