According to deputy head of intelligence Vadim Skibitsky, the enemy has concentrated all its ground forces in Ukraine, and there are no strategic reserves.
Russia will not be able to attack another country in Europe while its troops are on Ukrainian territory. She doesn’t have that option. This opinion was voiced by Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Vadim Skibitsky in a podcast for Ukrayinska Pravda.
According to him, if we are talking about strategic offensive operations on land against Finland, the Baltics, Poland or other states, then there is no need to be afraid. The enemy’s entire land resource is now in Ukraine, and this makes a possible expansion of the conflict unlikely.
“While we are restraining the aggression of the Russian Federation, Russia does not have such capabilities (opening a second front – ed.). They do not have strategic reserves. Look, they redeployed the same air defense units from the Far East, from the north, from the northern regions, in order to strengthen both in Crimea and along the border with our state. This is the first thing,” said Vadim Skibitsky.
Separately, the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Moscow Region noted that Russia had already attacked Finland in 1939, but now Helsinki is a more powerful player and, moreover, a full member of NATO.
Accordingly, Ukrainian intelligence makes a forecast that the Russian Federation currently does not have the ability to conduct a strategic land offensive operation against one of the states.
“The entire resource of the ground component is now targeted and located on our territory. Regarding the possibility of carrying out some individual strikes, long-range aviation, strategic aviation, this is another question. There is a challenge, but there is no direct threat that a war will start tomorrow in the Baltic countries. There there is no one to fight anymore, simply,” summed up Vadim Skibitsky.
Let us remind you that on January 7 it was reported that Russia could further attack Moldova if Ukraine loses the war, as stated by the former head of the CIA, David Petraeus. According to him, NATO’s line of defense runs between Ukraine and Russia, so everything must be done to ensure that the Kremlin loses.
