The German brand has announced with every opportunity it has been given that for 2024 it will present the renewed version of the VW Golf, which will celebrate its 50th birthday this year. In addition, the renewed version of the German model will be the last chance to acquire the small and medium hatchback with internal combustion engines, since its ninth generation, based on VW’s programming, will be purely electric.
Until then, the German brand delivers the first teaser of the updated version of the Golf as well as some details about the new features inside and out. What the relevant teaser also reveals is that the midsize model will still be available in a GTI version.
As for the interior, one of the main changes is that the steering wheel has returned to physical controls instead of touch, in favor of easy usability. The infotainment screen gets illuminated controls in its lower part, as is the case with the recently updated ID.3, which correspond to the air conditioning system. In addition, the ambient lighting appears more exuberant, which is expected to offer a greater range of options.
Its external appearance does not change radically based on VW’s habits, but this does not mean that there will not be targeted changes to the lighting bodies, the grille and the bumpers.
The German brand has promised to enrich the palmare of safety and assistance systems while there will also be improvements at the engine level which will focus on reducing carbon dioxide emissions and fuel consumption. Expectedly, in addition to the additional capabilities of the assistance and safety systems, there will also be additional equipment options. Based on the recommendations, the full unveiling of the renewed Golf is expected before the end of the first month of the year.
