Before this, it was believed that Hamas was able to produce anti-tank systems, man-portable air defense systems, and drones, but not cruise missiles. However, it is not yet known whether the militants managed to develop them.
The Israel Defense Forces said soldiers found components that prove Hamas militants were building or developing cruise missiles in the Gaza metro. This was reported by The Times of Israel.
The Israeli military, which continues its operation in the Gaza Strip, has discovered equipment and components that Hamas militants used to produce cruise missiles. It was believed that the terrorists did not have the weapons to create precision munitions.
The IDF adds that the technological equipment was discovered by soldiers of the Nahal Brigade and special operations forces in the Daraj and Tuffa area in Gaza City. They found a tunnel shaft that led to an underground weapons factory.
“Soldiers found components that prove that Hamas terrorists were trained under Iranian direction on how to operate and create precision components and strategic weapons,” the IDF said.
The Army also released photographs that were identified as a rocket engine and a warhead from a cruise missile. It was previously known that Hamas can produce anti-tank guided missiles, UAVs with explosives, and autonomous submarines, but not cruise missiles. In addition, the militants have MANPADS, but according to the publication, they are not effective against Israeli aircraft.
It is not yet known whether Hamas militants have produced cruise missiles or whether they are at the development stage.
Let us recall that on December 25, the IDF eliminated General Sayed Razi Mousavi, who led the Iranian proxies in Syria.
On December 18, the IDF discovered the largest Hamas terrorist tunnel in history. The fighting provided a lot of data about the “Gaza metro”.
