Farizon Auto, Geely’s commercial vehicle development subsidiary, showed off its Hometruck concept truck at a recent presentation. The vehicle has a class-leading aerodynamic drag coefficient Cd of only 0.343, which increases fuel efficiency by 7%.
The tractor is developed on the modular GXA-T platform, which combines various power plants: methanol, hydrogen and purely electric with removable batteries. The range varies from 500 km on batteries to 1,500 km with a methanol range extender function.
The Farizon Hometruck also features Level 2 autonomous driving, including proactive adaptive cruise control. The vehicle is assisted in this by the Geely satellite network, several cameras, a laser radar, a 4D millimeter-wave radar, and a high-definition panoramic surveillance system with a viewing angle of 270 degrees.
Particular attention is paid to driver comfort. The inside of the tractor cabin truly resembles a residential building, with the appropriate amenities. There is not only a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, but even a washing machine. Recently, a Homtruck tractor unit as part of a loaded road train withstood the cold test, covering 1,341 km on public roads between Heihe and Changchun.
