Cobra 11 star Christian Oliver has died in a plane crash. This emerges from consistent media reports, and the responsible police authority confirms the incident. Accordingly, the 51-year-old crashed in a light aircraft in the Caribbean. Oliver’s daughters, ten and twelve years old, also died in the accident.
Christian Oliver, whose real name was Christian Klepser, played the role of Chief Inspector Jan Richter in the RTL action series “Alarm für Cobra 11 – The Motorway Police”. He also appeared in several US films, including starring alongside George Clooney and Cate Blanchett in “The Good German”. Oliver lived with his family in Los Angeles.
According to police, the plane was on its way from the island of Becquia, the island state of St. Lucia in the eastern Caribbean. Shortly after taking off, the plane encountered difficulties and ultimately crashed, the police in the island state of St. Vincent and the Grenadines said. The pilot of the plane also died in the accident. The four bodies were recovered and were subsequently declared dead.
Fellow actor Erdogan Atalay, who also starred in Cobra 11, told RTL: “It’s absolutely horrible and my thoughts are with the mother. The idea of being left behind as a parent and having to endure this horror is indescribable.”
