The 2022 fortification is different from the 2023 fortification. The more Ukraine strengthens this aspect, the less likely the enemy will attack again, said Vyacheslav Chaus, Chairman of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation can form a sufficient number of people for a second offensive on the Chernigov region. This was announced by the head of the Chernihiv regional military administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, in response to a journalist’s question during a press conference, Suspilne reports on January 2.
He noted that Russia is capable of mobilizing the military in a short period of time, namely a week or three, but whether they will do this or not depends on how well Ukraine will work in terms of building up fortifications.
“Consolidating presence”: Naev explained why the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus continue exercises near the border with Ukraine
“They see everything, fly where they can, someone is driving somewhere, we don’t exclude this. They (Russians – ed.) understand the situation,” explained Vyacheslav Chaus.
According to Chaus, the fortification of 2023 compared to the fortification of 2022 is a completely different level. He noted that the Ukrainians will continue to strengthen this aspect, because the more Ukraine does this, the less likely it is that the invaders will re-attack the territory of the Chernihiv region.
Let us recall that on November 29, the head of the Center for Military Legal Research, Alexander Musienko, said that some territories on the border with Russia do not have natural obstacles, mountains, or rivers, so the invaders have no problems crossing them.
On December 30, it became known that Ukraine was building a second line of defense on the eastern and northern borders. In particular, the territory will be equipped with explosive and non-explosive protection.
