The last day of 2023 didn’t turn out to be particularly lucky for a 20-year-old driver who was arrested to run at 199 km/h on Schistos Avenueon a road where the maximum speed limit it was 50 km/h.
As informed by Greek police the incident happened in the morning hours Sunday 31/12 and the arrest was made by police officers of Traffic Accident Control & Prevention Teams (T.E.P.T.A.) of the Traffic Directorate of Attica, in the area of the Municipality of Keratsiniou-Drapetsonas.
The speed at which the young driver was running was ascertained through portable Special Electronic Technical device (radar) while the check made after the arrest found that the vehicle in question lacked a Technical Inspection Certificate (K.T.E.O.).
The driver was imposed the prescribed administrative sanctions, while at his expense a case file was filed for Dangerous driving. The arrested person was then taken to the Piraeus District Attorney.
But he got away! Driver runs at 338 km/h and “wins” the speed radar!
