Valentina Podverbnaya’s lawyer claims that the child was taken away from his client illegally. As for 12-year-old Anna Maria, she does not want to return to her mother.
The oldest mother in Ukraine, 78-year-old Valentina Podverbnaya, intends to regain her 12-year-old daughter Anna-Maria, and therefore filed an appeal against the decision of the Novozavodsky District Court of Chernigov to deprive her of parental rights, Suspilne reports, citing the words of the woman’s lawyer Andrey Kotenko.
The lawyer claims that the child should be with the mother, and there were no legal grounds for social services to take the girl away. At the beginning of the year, he took control of the situation.
“An appeal was filed, she appealed the decision, it will be reviewed,” Kitten emphasized.
The appeal is scheduled for mid-January 2024.
Podverbnaya’s case was heard behind closed doors on October 20. The child was taken from the mother without depriving the woman of parental rights until the girl reached the age of 14. Anna’s mother was present at the hearing, but refused to comment on the court’s decision, saying that she would contact her lawyer.
The public and social services drew attention to the family after Anna-Maria published a message on her Instagram about bullying from her mother on April 24, 2023. The girl claimed that her parent “does not allow her to bathe or wash her things, beats her and scratches her,” and also insults and humiliates her.
On her page, she also published audio where she asks her mother to solve the problem with strabismus from which she suffers, and other recordings.
The resonance from the teenager’s publication was such that already on April 25, by decision of the executive committee of the Chernigov City Council, the child was removed from his mother and placed in a hospital. She stayed there for a month. On May 26, the child was transferred to the center for socio-psychological rehabilitation of children in the village of Khmelnitsa, and the Novozavodsk district court of Chernigov decided to deprive Valentina Podverbnaya of parental rights.
In a conversation with reporters, Deputy Chairman of the Chernihiv Regional Council Dmitry Blaush said that he also took control of the situation and said that the girl dreams of finding a guardian. Anna-Maria allegedly knows a person who could adopt him and offered to provide contact information to check the possibility of guardianship.
Valentina Podverbnaya became the oldest woman in labor in Ukraine. On February 22, 2011, she gave birth to a baby, entering the Book of Records of Ukraine. To get pregnant, a woman saved money for seven years (almost 40 thousand UAH) for a course of treatment and artificial insemination.
Previously Focus wrote that after the birth of her daughter, Podverbnaya dreamed of having another child.
