Speed radars have no mercy, they also measure over long distances
The strategy of driving fast and braking hard when you see a speed camera may not pay off often. Drivers tend to fall into the speed “trap” much sooner than they think. It’s thanks technological progress, radars are becoming more accurate and some can see up to a kilometer.
At the same time, it is true that sudden braking in front of the radar – especially at high speed – can happen quickly dangerous maneuver and in the worst case lead to an accident.
Although some speed cameras are triggered up to a few meters in front of or even at the level of the speed camera itself, other models record the speed about 1000 meters in front of the device itself.
