Two hikers and a dog were hit by an avalanche on Jenner in Berchtesgaden. As the police announced on Sunday, the woman, the man and the animal were able to free themselves from the snow masses on Saturday afternoon. The mountain rescue service brought the hikers back to safe terrain.
According to the Bavarian Avalanche Warning Service, there is currently a low avalanche danger in the Bavarian Alpine region. In isolated cases, however, gliding snow avalanches can occur on steep meadow slopes.
