One of the only 25 anniversary, orange Hayabusa for the 25 years of the legendary “Hawk”, was in Athens and in front of the special press, to admire it and relive the story of the “fastest motorcycle in history”.
The Suzuki Hayabusa enters its 25th year this year and, as one of the most important superbikes of all time, it’s no surprise that Suzuki decided to create an anniversary edition of it. The news first appeared on the international stage, in June, with reports only for the French market at first, but soon Suzuki Greece confirmed the news: The new Hayabusa 25th Anniversary will also come to Greece. That moment came today.
We met at the Suzuki Motorcycles store in Athens, at 23 Kallirrois Street, where, in a special mini-event, the company presented us with one of the few pieces of the new Hayabusa that will come here. Of course, Hayabusa means history and speed and Suzuki secured one Busa of each generation, in excellent showcase condition, to show us, alongside the anniversary edition of the Gen. 3.
Just before the unveiling of the anniversary orange beauty, the people at Suzuki have prepared us a mini historical retrospective of the model, showing us the first press videos from 1999, when Suzuki described the Hayabusa as “the boldest motorcycle on the road”. It has a special historical value, to watch the first videos of a motorcycle that has become a legend, to remember and learn the technical details behind its development, and at the same time, to have it live, right there, next to you, 25 years later.
The big moment came and the black hood came off, revealing the anniversary Hayabusa in all its orange glory. Whatever we say about this particular shade is redundant, not even the photos can capture how vibrant and luxurious it looks up close. Vibrant orange is combined with black throughout the model, while it “breaks” with metallic silver from the exhaust, which is also adorned with the Hayabusa logo. This particular logo is found in many parts of the bike, as well as on the standard for the occasion, rear seat cover. On the tank, there is also a special sticker marking the anniversary character of the motorcycle.
The price of the anniversary Hayabusa is set at 23,295 euros, while as we have learned, only 25 pieces of the edition will reach Greece, so… count the beans and hurry!
