The car automatically locked the doors and did not allow its owner into the cabin. Then he simply sold it.
Tesla electric car owner Mario Zelaya from Canada posted a video on TikTok in which he called his car a “piece of garbage,” despite the fact that it costs $140,000. The thing is that the car “extorts” another 26 thousand dollars from Mario to replace the battery, writes the Unilad portal.
Mario couldn’t not only start the car, he didn’t even get into the car. The electric car blocked the doors and did not allow him inside, as the battery needed to be replaced. When Zelaya found out that it would cost him $26,000, he was furious and posted a video on social media, where he complained about the problem.
Users advised him to sell the electric car, but this was not without problems. The fact is that the documents for the car were in the cabin. Luckily, Mario was able to pay $30 and get a second copy of the title deeds by going to the dealer.
The Canadian bought a Tesla in 2013, but the models that year had problem batteries; their owners often complained of coolant leaks. Apparently, the battery of Zelaya’s electric car also could not stand it and “gave a leak.”
An “eternal” battery has been built in China: it works thanks to gravity, does not require lithium
The car owner turned to Transport Canada for help, a department of the Canadian Ministry of Transport responsible for the operation of road, rail, sea and air transportation, as well as regulating the rules, policies and services provided by these services. He said experts from Transport Canada are “conducting an investigation into the vehicle” as well as the manufacturer.
Mario Zelaya complained that Tesla knew about the problem, but despite this they put the car up for sale and did not bother to check its battery. He promised never to buy electric cars of this brand again, and sold his problematic car.
Previously, we reported that a Tesla car “demanded” $23 thousand to replace the battery, but the owner found a way to fix the car for $5 thousand.
